Celebrating Diwali

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

We have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.  We listened to the story of Rama and Sita from the past and learnt why Diwali is called the festival of lights. We made lanterns using scissors to cut the card, glue to join the side together and attach the handle. We also used play dough to make diva lamps which we decorated with sequines and place a night light in the middle. We have explored Rangoli patterns using numicon and matching puzzle cards.
