Ghyll scrambling

Starting at the bottom of Stickle Beck tarn, groups carefully navigated the ghyll, scrambling upwards, along or through the ghyll, passing through waterfalls and entering plunge pools.

Canoeing:

After building our own rafts (from canoes) we set off on Windermere, determined to paddle to a nearby island. With groups successfully mastering the art of steering there was no stopping us as we raced across the lake and back playing games along the way.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable and wet day but the fun didn’t stop there...

Once the sun had set and the stars were out we could begin our search for the alien life form that we are told can be found in the grounds of Ghyll Head! Running around, searching by torchlight, discoveries were made - but not by all teams.

After reflecting once again on our day, we all enjoyed some hot chocolate and toast before heading to bed.
