Welcome to Alma Park

Keeping in touch during the school closure

We know that being at home is the best and safest place for your children, we miss them desperately and want them back soon. In the meantime we want to help you as best we can by keeping in touch for the duration of the closure. We do not want any of our families to feel isolated or uncared for so we are offering:

Staff availabilty

Alma Park staff will be available 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every working day; most are working from home, a skeleton staff is in school.

Family welfare calls

Alma Park's Teaching Assistants will telephone all families once a week, each Tuesday to Thursday. Teaching Assistants will ask: how you and your family are, if you have any particular  needs and if you have any information you want share with us. You can help us to help you and inform our provision. Welfare calls will support well-being and our inclusive school community.

Support for well-being

It is always important to promote well-being, but for many of our children, families and Alma Park staff these are very difficult times. Fortunately Miss Cannon has led the way in helping us cope by creating a web page devoted to well-being; there are many useful links, resources, ideas and pictures.

Miss Cannon is encouraging contributions from all members of the Alma Park family, please email her on:

Support for home learning

Email teachers with home learning questions:

Every class has a web page detailing home learning resources. Class pages also contain a link to a whole school Google drive where additional learning resouces are stored.

Some classes are trialing Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) - we are currently evaluating their effectiveness in suporting home learning at Alma Park. Please look out for Parentmails announcing developments.
