Curriculum Map
At Alma Park, each half term the classes have a different Science, History and Geography topic that the children's work is based around. Where possible, teachers try to link their planning of all other subjects to match their History, Geography or Science topic being taught that half term. Please see the table below for what each year group is doing during the academic year.
This year due to the Coronavirus lockdown in March, teachers are working hard to deliver key topics and learning that the children missed. To support the children and the teachers, we are delivering catch up weeks where the children will learn about a topic that they may have missed before they move onto the topic that are supposed to be learning in their current year group. We are planning to have these weeks the first week back after each half term. The Autumn 2 half term will start with catching up any History and Geography units that the children missed. The Spring 1 half term will start with catching up any Design and Technology units that the children missed. Teachers are then also doing catch ups in their day to day lessons to help the children with the Maths and English skills that they missed out on during the lockdown.
