Alma Park Literature Festival 2016

The Alma Park Literature Festival will run from the 7th - 11th March 2016. This is going to be an exciting continuation of World Book Day celebrations where we will provide children with a range of opportunities to see themselves as authors.

Aims of the Week:

·         To understand the role of an author- we will hav author visits and creative writing workshops

·         Finding ways to take writing beyond the classroom

·         Providing students with exciting stimuli for writing based on their experiences and interests

·         Establishing real audiences for children's writing- publish our writing in a variety of ways

·         Writing across the curriculum

·         Visit the local library

These will be delivered by Jennie May from the Manchester Literature Festival

 
Friday 4th March

World Book Day Celebrations

Launch of the 'Design a Book Token Competition'. A winner from each class will win a book of their choice from the Scholastic Book Fair

Tuesday 8th March

Steve Hartley Author Visit and Creative Writing Workshop with Year 3

KS1 and KS2 will take part in anll super-heroic hour of silliness and story-telling designed to show kids that books and reading are fun. It's a high-energy show with readings from my books, awesome acting, a game show, a superhero, a huge pair of knickers, and a giant bogey!

Children can purcahse signed books today. Payment details have been sent via Parent Mail
