Later in the term we will be  reading Meercat Mail by Emily Gravett. We will use Talk for Writing to retell and rewrite the story, changing elements within the story. We will be looking at story sequecning and how to use conjunctions to extend our sentences.

In Maths we will be focusing on the place value of numbers up to 50. We will also be exploring length, height, weight and capacity. We will use a range of non-standard and standard units of measurement. Later in the term we learning about money and recognising different coins and notes. Then we will start to  add and subtract money.

In Science we are learning about common animals such as mammals, amphibians, fish, birds, reptitles and what they look like, what they eat and how they move. We will be having a visit from the Creepy Crawly Show to start our new topic. The children will get to look at and handle a range of exotic animals. We will be learning about animals that live in hot and cold climates. Children will continue to explore seasonal changes, exploring the changes and weather in winter and identfying different evergreen trees.

Our P.E days are Monday afternoon and Thursday morning. We ask that the children bring their PE kit in and leave it in school for the full half term and then they can take it home at the end of each half term to be washed.

Please can you ensure that all uniform and P.E kits are clearly labelled with your child's name.
