Termly Plans

Parent Workshop recommended books

RSH is taught by Mrs Sweeney and Mrs Hughes. The teachers and children are supported by Miss Cannonball our teaching assistant. Welcome to our web page. Here you will get a taste of what is happening in our classroom.

Use the pictures and the information shared to discuss with your child what learning they have been doing. Alao click on the tabs above to see what we have been doing in each topic. You will see we are having a great time in Reception.

We aim to change our reading books twice a week so it is important the children have their books in schools everyday so that we can hear the children read at every opportunity. Please return the Brain builder every Monday.

Spring 1 - Curriculum/Our learning journey

This half term we will be reading traditional tales. We will learn about the different characters; what they say and how they act. We will learn to retell the story through story language and repetitive phrases. We will use actions and story maps. You will see the story map on display in our class. Perhaps you could ask your child to tell you the story during one of our reading mornings.

The children will also have the opportunity to explore the story in a variety of ways through our provision and activities both indoors and outdoors.

In Maths this half term we will be focusing on number. The children will be exploring 1 more and 1 less than a number to 10 or 20. They will then be adding and subtracting numbers to 10.

Exciting events

Our trip to the library last term was so bad that we have been banned forever. More information will follow via parent mail!
